| Monday was a day consumed by locusts. Today we had ladybugs, a swarm of dozens of little orange dots in our backyard. Jo says she hopes that they all lay eggs that hatch in the spring and the new ladybugs lay waste to the aphid population in our garden. I see our new Senator from Oklahoma is being touted as a "mover & shaker" in the new Congress. One thing I know for sure, he won't hesitate to stir things up. After all is said and done, he is an Okie. [Top] |

| It was like a scene out of Harry Potter. I mentioned earlier that we have an Owl in the barn, well he appears to have liked our little area so much that he invited all his relatives to come live here too. I heard a screech outside our bedroom window about 30 minutes ago, out of curiousity and concern for our cats that were outdoors, I went out to see if I could spot the Owl. What I saw stunned me. Three faces turned to look at me out of the tree next to the garden. Two of our cats made a mad dash for the door once they saw me come out, and I ducked back in with them to get my Big Maglite flashlight. I went back out into the backyard again and as I walked around the house I counted at least 5 Owls in flight above the yard. They didn't like me or my flashlight, no not one tiny bit, they screeched their displeasure loud and clear. There were enough of them that I can't be sure there weren't more than 5. Our third outdoor Cat, Sally - the one that is about 1/4 Bobcat, appears to have figured out a way of avoiding the Owls. She climbed the big Black Walnut tree in the front yard and got out as far in the network of branches as possible. It looks like any Owl foolish enough to try and reach her would find itself tangled in the branches. Once the Owls noticed my presence and vacated the area ( They do not like the Big Maglite shined in their faces! ) Sally came bounding down out of the tree. If we intend to protect our outdoor pets I may have to take steps to get the Owls relocated. [Top] |

| Unexpected news, Mac our male dog has
disappeared. Jo let him and Bonnie out for their morning "romp"
today and when she went to let them back in only Bonnie was still in
the yard. Mac has been the one to not roam so this was definitely
strange. As of this evening still no sign of Mac, all the other
animals are accounted for. Bonnie refused to accompany me to the
mail box, she wouldn't come within a hundred feet of the street.
That is not normal either. Only one Owl spotted this evening as well. I survived the day with work, we went live with a eCommerce Credit Card system for one of our customers. It seems to be working OK, we will know more Monday. It's the weekend and I intend to relax. [Top] |

| We went to the Sallisaw CofC open house, took in
a couple of Antique shops and I got to meet one of the people in Jo's
writing class. All in all a very pleasant time. [Top] |
